Fighting Techniques

Back Kick- lash out back legs, taking all your weight on your front paws, then flip onto enemy’s stomach.

Belly Rack- rack belly quickly if you are pinned down. It should put you in control.

Front Paw Blow- bring your front paw down on enemy’s head with sheathed claws.

Front Paw Strike- slice downward on your enemy with unsheathed claws.

Killing Bite- a death blow to the throat or the back of the neck. It is only used for a last resort.

Leap-and-hold- spring onto enemy’s back and grip with unsheathed claws. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before your enemy squashes you.

Drop-and-roll- used for a counter attack. If enemy is on back, drop onto back and roll away as your enemy lets go.

Partner Fighting- cats protect each other’s backs, while fighting an enemy on either side. Battle pairs like this can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers.

Play Dead- go limp when an enemy has you pinned on the ground. Their grip should loosen for they think you have given up. When you feel claws retreating away from pelt, kick with full force with your back legs.

Unbalance Counter Move(Brightheart’s move)- when enemy springs slip under paws and hit enemy’s back legs to roll enemy onto ground, Then jump on your enemy before it gets up.

Head-butt attack- if enemy is reared up on back legs, head-butt enemy in stomach and it will send enemy flying away.

Tree-jump attack- when an enemy is near, climb up a tree and wait until enemy is under you. Then spring from the branch you were on and leap onto enemy’s back. Watch out for the drop-and-roll counter move.

Flip spring- this move is for enemies and prey. When you scent your target stop where you are. When you pinpoint it, spring up a little and flip over in the air to land on your target.

Upright Lock- rear up on back legs and bring full weight down on your weakened enemy.

Tail Spin- grab hold of an enemy’s tail. Grip hard so that it’s hard to let go when enemy tugs on it. Then put all your energy into spinning your enemy. When you are ready let go in mid-spin. Your enemy will be flying away.
